Geoff is a 32 year DHL veteran having served in various capacities developing DHL’s global air network.
Starting out with a first degree in Management Science, Geoff then went on to qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant. The qualifications helped provide a basis for his true passion; a career in Aviation management. Geoff’s first key role was to manage & grow DHL’s Middle East airline operation based in Bahrain. This comprised managing a small & growing fleet of turboprop freighter aircraft throughout the 1990s and ensuring uninterrupted air service throughout the Gulf War.
Geoff moved to Europe in the millennium to lead DHL’s European airline operations. He managed the major re-fleeting programs in Europe over 10 years; being the first in the industry to convert B757s and in parallel managed large wide-body A300 acquisition & conversion programs. Geoff was also the lead in transforming DHL’s European operating platform; transferring DHLs primary European airline AOC from Brussels to Leipzig.
Since 2012 Geoff has served as SVP Global Air Fleet Management responsible for managing DHL’s worldwide fleet of 280 dedicated freighter aircraft. He positioned DHL to be the industry pioneer for introducing new conversion fleet types (B757s, A300s & A330-300s) as well as supporting fleet decisions for operating new large production freighter types (B747-8s and B777s).
International travel is firmly in Geoff’s blood. He has an insatiable wanderlust; always seeking new locations, cultures & experiences for adventure. This is combined with a passion for marathon running across the globe. Geoff is one of only 7000 elite marathon athletes in the world to have completed all 6 marathon majors. His running CV also includes the South Pole marathon and a half marathon in North Korea.
